Motivational interviewing
Torn between changing and leaving things as they are? We explore both sides, calmly, without me pushing you in any direction.
What it is about
What it is and who it is for
Usually you only half want to change. One part of you wants to stop, cut down or tackle something; another part doesn’t want that at all. As long as someone else supplies the good arguments, that second part only defends itself harder.
So I turn it around. We explore both sides, calmly and without judgement, until you hear for yourself what weighs more for you. I don’t push; I help you get your own reasons on the table. The choice always stays yours.
Sound familiar?
- You know something has to change, but it doesn’t happen.
- Others tell you to stop or cut down and it backfires.
- You are torn about a big decision: work, relationship, habit.
- You have seen good intentions fail before.

How it works
How we go about it
1
Both sides on the table
What does the current situation give you, and what does it cost you? Honestly, without me taking sides.
2
Your reasons
We look for what really counts for you. Not what “should”, but what you yourself want.
3
A first step
If you decide to change, we make a step small enough to take and big enough to notice.
What to expect
Practical
- No persuading, no arguments, no guilt.
- A method developed precisely for this kind of doubt, and well researched.
- Often more clarity within a few sessions.
Frequently asked questions
What if I end up not wanting to change?
Then that is an honest outcome. Better a conscious choice than a half intention that keeps nagging.
Which topics does this work for?
